Tweetbot for Mac, is one of the most popular third-party Twitter clients available within the Mac App Store, and with so many devices out there running the app, it’s likely that many users have noticed it looks a bit out of place with the new OS X Yosemite aesthetic. Of course, not every app has to look like Apple’s proprietary software, but many popular apps seem to adopt some form of the design or overall visual approach to the new software that’s released.

So, perhaps it should not come as a surprise that a new version of Tweetbot for Mac will apparently have a bit of a redesign, if a new photo tweeted by Mark Jardine, a designer for Tweetbots (the development name behind Tweetbot), is to be believed. The image above was the aforementioned tweet, and seems to showcase a redesign for Tweetbot for Mac, with round avatars and a bit lighter aesthetic. There’s a bit of translucency, too, so it looks like it will fit in nicely with Yosemite.

May 15, 2018  Tweetbot is an award-winning, full-featured* Twitter client for the Mac. It has a beautiful interface with light & dark themes, multiple-column support and much more. Many of us have been eagerly awaiting a new version of Tweetbot for iPad for quite a while now, as well as an updated version of Tweetbot for Mac. The wait seems like it’s drawing to a close though.

Unfortunately, only 2015 was thrown in with the tweet, so there’s no final release date for this upcoming app. Something to look forward to for Tweetbot users, at least. via; Thanks, James!.

With the first party Twitter for Mac app now dead, fans of the leading third-party alternative iOS client got a little nervous when the app disappeared for many hours this morning. Right now, the apps are still missing and customers setting up new iOS devices or restoring from backups are unable to download Tweetbot and the company’s other apps. Luckily, this is a temporary problem. It turns out the Tapbots developer account expired, and for some reason the auto-renewal option failed, which led to the rather embarrassing outcome of all Tapbots apps getting pulled from the store. Note to self, never trust ADC auto-renewal again. — Paul Haddad (@tapbotpaul) To submit an app to the App Store, developers must become a member of the Apple Developer Program which costs upwards of $99 a year.

If your membership elapses, your apps disappear from of the App Store. Apple lets developers manually renew their accounts but there is also an automatic renewal option. Haddad says that Tapbots had setup auto-renewal with a credit card, but the card had expired when the payment was attempted. It’s an unfortunate situation for the Tapbots team to deal with, but this means Tapbots customers can stop panicking that their favourite apps are in jeopardy.

Whilst it may take a little while for Tapbots to sort this out, their apps like Tweetbot and Calcbot will be back soon.
